- 5 Men den, som er en ret Enke og forladt, haver sat sit Haab til Gud, og bliver ved i Bønner og Paakaldelser Nat og Dag.
- 6 Men den Vellystige er levende død.
- 7 Forkynd og dette, paa det de maae være ustraffelige.
- 8 Men dersom Nogen ikke haver Omsorg for sine Egne og meest for sine Huusfolk, den haver negtet Troen og er værre end en Vantro.
- 9 En Enke bør ikke udnævnes yngre end tresindstyve Aar, som haver være een Mands Hustru.
- 10 som haver Vidnesbyrd for gode Gjerninger, at hun haver opfødt Børn, at hun haver gjerne laant Huus, at hun haver toet de Helliges Fødder, at hun haver forsørget de Betrængte, at hun haver lagt sig efter al god Gjerning.
- 11 Men undslaa dig for unge Enker; thi naar de af Kaadhed opsætte sig imod Christus, ville de giftes,
- 12 og have den Dom, at de have sveget den første Tro.
- 13 Tilmed lære de ørkesløse at løbe omkring i Husene, dog ikke alene ørkesløse, men ogsaa med Skvalder og ufornøden Handel, talende, hvad ikke sømmer sig.
- 14 Derfor vil jeg, at de unge Enker skulle giftes, føde Børn, styre Huset, ingen Anledning give Modstanderne til slet Omtale.
- 15 Thi allerede have Nogle vendt sig bort efter Satan.

- 21 Jeg besværger dig for Guds og den Herres Jesu Christi og de udvalgte Engles Aasyn, at du skal holde disse Ting uden Partiskhed, saa du Intet gjør efter Tilbøielighed.

- 23 Drik ikke mere Vand, men nyd lidet Viin for din Mave og dine jævnlige Svagheder.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
